Job Description:

A small private medical practice is seeking a dependable and compassionate Medical Assistant to support patient care, clinical workflows, and day-to-day office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with patients, providers, and a supportive healthcare team in a professional, patient-centered environment.

The Medical Assistant will assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting information, supporting procedures, coordinating care, and helping ensure the practice runs smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet and room patients in a friendly, professional manner
    • Take and record vital signs, patient history, medications, and reason for visit
    • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and routine clinical tasks
    • Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked and organized
    • Perform basic clinical duties such as injections, specimen collection, EKGs, or point-of-care testing, as assigned and within scope
    • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
    • Communicate with patients regarding follow-up instructions, referrals, prescriptions, and basic care coordination
    • Answer patient questions within scope and escalate clinical concerns to the provider or appropriate team member
    • Support front office tasks as needed, including scheduling, phone calls, insurance updates, and patient communication
    • Maintain cleanliness, safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance standards
    • Help create a welcoming and efficient patient experience in a small practice setting

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Medical Assistant certification or completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
    • Active HIPAA compliance / training credential required
    • Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, urgent care, or private practice preferred
    • Strong communication and patient service skills
    • Ability to accurately document patient information and follow clinical workflows
    • Comfortable using electronic medical records and basic office technology
    • Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
